Kimono -- Made ~ 1984

Sharon made this piece starting with illustrations on raw silk. She then constructed the piece and quilted, stitching around the individual details in the illustrations in black thread. 

This piece was stolen in the late 80s from an art gallery in Portland, OR, but Sharon's daughter found it years later for sale in a second-hand store and was able to recover it.
